Welfare Benefits Scheme
The welfare benefits scheme provides a range of welfare benefits arranged through Welplan, which include:-
From 1st January 2008
DEATH BENEFIT
From accidents or natural causes - £25,000
WEEKLY SICK PAY
Payable from the 8th day of the incapacity from work for a maximum period for any one claim of 52 weeks.
£80 per week from week 1 - week 26
£72 per week from week 27 - week 52
PERMANENT TOTAL DISABILITY BENEFIT (PTDB)
As a result of permanent and total disablement from any form of gainful occupation.
£10,000 (to age 54)
£6000 (age 55–59)
£3000 (age 60–64)
ACCIDENTAL DISMEMBERMENT BENEFIT
Following loss of:
Sight in one eye £5,000
Sight in both eyes £10,000
A limb, eg. hand ,foot, arm or leg £5,000
Multiple loss, eg. one arm and one leg
or two legs, etc. £10,000
Big toe £350
Any other toe £100
Thumb or 4 fingers £2,000
Index finger £1,000
Any other finger £200
