On Tuesday 10th July 2007 TICA attended the Trade Association Forum Award ceremony and dinner at Millennium Hotel, Mayfair, London in hope of winning an award for the entry ‘Commercial Initiative of the Year' for the success in a commercial venture.

The award was made to the trade association which, in the opinion of the judges, has shown outstanding initiative in developing a service to members that has made a positive contribution.
TICA was chosen as one of three finalists from many entries, the judges agreed the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association had done the most to deserve the award.
The judges were impressed TICA had taken such positive action over an issue that was threatening the industry. The insurance scheme had clearly resulted in significant savings for TICA and ACAD members but, equally significantly in the judges' opinion, it had generated an additional revenue stream for TICA.
The award was presented to Ian Dalgarno, president of TICA, by Robin Murray Brown at Norman Broadbent along with guest speaker, Gyles Brandreth, Lord Commissioner of the Treasury in John Major's government and broadcaster for many programmes including Have I Got News for You.
