Dates have important memories of events that have occurred over a period of time. 30th June 2010 is the one I (Gerry Deans) will mark for my day to retire from the TICA. After twenty years as I.E.T.A Training Officer I am taking early retirement at 61 years old.

Looking back it only seems like yesterday that I left Cardonald College to commence employment with the TICA. Not long after the Three Amigos (Phil DeVeuve and Steve Woods and I) spent time together setting up I.E.T.A.  A lot has happened since, good and sad things, but most have been happy times. There have been many staff changes over the years and the move from London to Darlington was another distant memory.

As Lead Internal Verifier I delight in the fact that staff within the training centre is a great group of Assessors and more so very good friends. It gives me great pleasure in knowing that with guidance good Standards will be kept.

I take this opportunity to thank all IETA staff for their support in the years I have known them.

Neil Grey will be taking over my roll as IETA training Officer and I’m sure that he will enjoy the roll just as much as I have over the years.
